In recent years, the small forward position has become one of the most important positions, it needs to be able to score and rebound well, often used as the second rebounder after center. There are many excellent small forwards in NBA, such as LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Giannis Antetokounmpo and so on. But they are very expensive. So, what are the best small forwards in NBA 2k20 MyTeam for less than 50k? Read this article carefully, the answer is in the text.
'86 Dominique Wilkins (OVR 95)
• Card Type: Spotlight
• Position: SF / SG
• Team: '85-'86 Atlanta Hawks
• Best stats: 98 hands, 98 offensive consistency, 98 driving dunk
• Cost: 42k
The first, and most expensive, name in the top five budget small forwards is Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins. Dominique Wilkins was always an incredible scorer. After averaging 17.5 points per game during his rookie season with the Atlanta Hawks and then 21.6 as a sophomore, he'd reel off 10 consecutive seasons in which he produced at least 25 points during the typical contest. The nine-time NBA All-Star is best remembered for his time with the Atlanta Hawks, where he has since had his number 21 jersey retired by the side.
His dunking was on a whole other level and he won the iconic NBA slam dunk contest in 1985 and 1990. He also picked up the scoring title in the former, with an average of 30.3 PPG.
Wilkins' card is surprisingly affordable too. Despite his 95 OVR rating, he can be picked up for under 50k mt for 2k20. A great investment if you can afford him.
'79 Lou Hudson (OVR 95)
• Card Type: Legacy
• Position: SF / SG
• Team: Atlanta Hawks
• Best stats: 98 shot IQ, 98 offensive consistency, 96 shot close.
• Cost: 35k
Joining Williams is yet another 95 rated Atlanta Hawks legend, this time in the form of 'Sweet Lou', Lou Hudson.
Hudson initially played for the St Louis Hawks for two seasons. Beginning with the 1969-70 season, Hudson averaged at least 24 points in five straight seasons. In his years with the Hawks, he averaged at least 20 points seven times. He set a career-high with his 27.1 points per game in 1972-73. Hudson, who at 6-foot-5 could play guard and forward, averaged 20.2 points in his career. A six-time All-Star, Hudson left an indelible mark on the Hawks and the NBA, both as a player and a person. He spent 11 seasons with the Hawks and finished with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1979.
Hudson was best known for his scoring ability, finding the net from pretty much anywhere on the court (96 shot close, 95 shot mid and 91 shot 3pt). His 98 offensive consistency will help him to continue to make buckets all game. A steal for just 35k.
'90 Marques Johnson (OVR 94)
• Card Type: Legacy
• Position: SF / SG
• Team: '84-'85 Milwaukee Bucks
• Best stats: 98 offensive consistency, 98 hands, 97 shot IQ
• Cost: 32k
Next in the top five is the 94 rated UCLA graduate Marques Johnson. The small forward spent seven seasons with the Bucks and it was those years in the early 1980s when his pairing with Moncrief cause all sorts of problems in the Eastern Conference as the Bucks cruised their way to five consecutive division titles.
The former third pick in the 1977 NBA Draft also earned a spot on this list thanks to his eleven-season career and his outstanding scoring ability, being yet another successful shooting guard with a killer instinct and amazing moves to leave defenders behind. Through his career, he managed to average 20.1 points and 7 rebounds per game, showing great athleticism. Nevertheless, a serious neck injury prevented him from growing even more as a player and it wound up killing his career.
Whilst Johnson is remembered as a small forward, he famously coined the phrase 'point forward' a position he claims to have created during the Bucks point guard injury crisis in the 1984 playoffs.
Getting to the basket is key to getting those points here and with a 95 rated driving layup and 90 rated driving dunk, Johnson is going to score you some highlight-reel buckets.
'04 Jamal Mashburn (OVR 94)
• Card Type: Legacy
• Position: SF / PF
• Team: New Orleans Pelicans
• Best stats: 96 hustle, 95 stamina, 95 hands
• Cost: 30k
Yet another high 90 rated player available for under 50k is the fourth overall pick from the 1993 draft, Jamal Mashburn.
'The Monster Mash' made his solitary All-Star appearance in 2003, on the back of his best-ever scoring season in 2002, playing in all 82 games and averaging 21.6 PPG.
Whilst Mashburn may not have as many individual awards as others in this list, he was still a great player in his own right before his chronic knee problems forced him into retirement in 2005.
At 6'8", Mashburn was a consistent threat in the paint (90 driving layup, 90 standing dunk) and was particularly impressive at getting to the free-throw line (92 draw foul).
'87 Julius Erving (OVR 94)
• Card Type: Prime VIP
• Position: SF
• Team: Philadelphia 76ers
• Best stats: 98 offensive consistency, 98 vertical, 96 help defense IQ
• Cost: 42k
The final name in the list is by no means the worst, and that player is the Philadelphia 76ers icon, Julius Erving. Dr. J was a perennial All-Star during his 11-year run with the 76ers, and he ended his career in the top-5 of virtually every offensive category in Sixers' franchise history. Widely renowned as one of the very best dunkers in the history of the NBA, the 1981 NBA MVP comes in on NBA 2K20 with a 96 rated driving dunk on his 94 OVR card, and rightfully so.
Erving was a key member of the last Philly squad to pick up a ring back in 1983 and also won the NBA's Most Valuable Player award two years earlier in 1981. Dr. J spent 11 years in Philadelphia and is one of ten players to have his jersey number (6) retired by the franchise.
He is one of the pricier players in this five, however, you can't complain at 42k for a car of this caliber. Erving LOVES a driving bucket (93 driving layup and 96 driving dunks) but can also get it done on the defensive end of the court too (86 OVR defending).
The above players are the best small forwards in NBA 2k20 MyTEAM for less than 50k. You can use them in the game without spending a lot of your NBA 2k20 mt. Also, browse here for more information about NBA 2k20 MyTEAM.
