So far, the Miami Heat ranks second in the East with a 19-7 record, making it the most surprising team in the NBA. But, past and present, the heat has always had some very talented players, and here's a look at some of the best Miami players you can buy in NBA 2k20 MyTeam.
Jimmy Butler (OVR 95)
• Card Type: Moments of the Week
• Position: SF / SG
• Best stats: 97 hustle, 95 offensive consistency, 95 defensive consistency
• Cost: 100k
The best Miami Heat player that you can pick up in MyTEAM currently is the Heat's starman, Jimmy Butler. He is the final 88 rating. He's also the only Miami Heat player to make the Top 20 this year.
After scoring 20+ points in nine straight games, Butler had failed to reach that mark in the prior two games, but he was back on the 20-point train in this one. Butler had 20 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists on 8-of-19 shooting and the Heat are now 4-0 in overtime games this season, and join the Celtics and Sixers as the only undefeated teams at home this season. Butler has three triple-doubles this season with all of them coming in his last five games.
He received a Moments of the Week card in the seventh installment on 2K20 after dropping 37 points, six rebounds and four assists in the 93-112 loss to the Boston Celtics on December 4th.
If you want a player who can get it done on both ends of the court on a regular basis then look no further. 95 consistency in both offense and defense as well as some the athletic ability to get up and down the court quickly, Butler is the ultimate grafter.
LeBron James (OVR 94)
• Card Type: Spotlight
• Position: SF / PF
• Best stats: 99 overall durabilities, 98 shot IQ, 98 stamina
• Cost: 200k
LeBron James' status as an NBA legend is unquestioned. LeBron has remained a focal point of 2K’s flagship title for the last 12 years. 2K7 was the first iteration where LeBron was named the best player marking the start of a legendary streak The King has retained for over a decade. 12 years and only one King, LeBron has consistently been discussed as the greatest basketball player of all time.
LeBron has performed to an insane level at each and every NBA franchise he has played at, but it was the move to Miami which drew the most attention. While in Miami, LeBron learned how to win titles. Winning back to back titles in 2012 and 2013 whilst also being named the Finals MVP in both of those campaigns. During his peak season in Miami, James averaged 27.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
Athleticism was the key for LeBron in his Miami days and that is highlighted on this card with a huge 91 OVR in that department. His 93 rated speed and acceleration make him almost impossible to defend, especially when driving to the basket (96 driving layups and 90 driving dunks). Although a bit expensive, getting him is great value for money. You can buy a lot of cheap mt 2k20 at u4gm to get him.
Bam Adebayo (OVR 92)
• Card type: Moments of the Week
• Position: C / PF
• Best stats: 96 hustle, 95 defensive rebounds, 95 hands
• Cost: 10k
Another player who has been key to the Heat's hot start this season is 22-year-old Bam Adebayo. Miami's promising young big man Bam Adebayo is moving up the ratings ladder quickly. He has jumped three points to an 86 overall. His jump was one of the biggest in this latest update. Adebayo appears to be taking the next step forward in his third season, which is good news for Miami Heat fans. He has been putting in big performances night upon night and as a result sees himself awarded a 92 rated Moments of the Week card, his second MOTW of the year.
The talent was there and it's clearly showing up now. Adebayo came up big in the recent 135-121 overtime win against the Hawks, putting up a triple-double with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists as he looks more and more like an All-Star each day.
Those 11 rebounds certainly helped his rebounding rating which took a huge jump to a 95 OVR on this card, with a 94 rating in offensive rebounding and 95 defensive reboundings. His standing dunk is the best route to take in terms of scoring, with a 90 OVR in that trait.
'04 Eddie Jones (OVR 88)
• Card Type: Spotlight
• Position: SG / SF
• Best stats: 96 steals, 95 defensive consistency, 95 pass perception
• Cost: 3k
Jones spent five years with the Heat between the years of 2000-2005, Jones was hugely important before they went on to win the championship in 2006.
Known for his ability to steal the ball, Jones was a constant menace for those teams who liked to throw the ball around. In his career, the three-time All-Star stole the ball 1,620 times, at an average of 1.7 SPG.
It comes as no surprise that his steal (96) is the Jones’ top-rated stat, closely followed by his pass perception (95) which goes hand in hand with the stealing and his defensive consistency (95)
His 89 rated defending is his highest attribute by some margin, with his 96 rated steals sure to be a dangerous weapon should you buy him for your side.
'06 Shaquille O' Neal (OVR 86)
• Card Type: Spotlight
• Position: C
• Best stats: 98 shot IQ, 98 reaction time, 98 shot contest
• Cost: 2k
Shaquille O'Neal wasn't only a large man, but he had uncanny athleticism that made him unstoppable in many ways. The smaller defenders were too weak to hang with him the post, and the bigger guys were too slow to deal with his bevy of moves and scoring techniques. He may have slowed as he aged, but prime Shaq is bringing every rim down with him.
Shaq was fighting David Robinson for the scoring title late in the 1993/1994 regular season (both over 29.0 ppg). Against his arch-rival Christian Laettner’s Minnesota Timberwolves, he made a performance that only Wilt Chamberlain could do. Dunking and jump hook clinic by the 2nd-year player which is pretty remarkable. 53 Points 18 Rebounds in 36 minutes with 71% FG. And almost 70% free-throw shooting which is pretty rare for even young Shaq. O'Neal won the last of his four NBA titles on the East Coast with the Heat as they beat a heavily fancied Dallas Mavericks, led by Dirk Nowitzki, 4-2 in the finals. Whilst O'Neal is best remembered as a Laker, he made quite the impression during his five-year stint in Miami, resulting in his number 32 jersey being retired at the end of his career.
Another defensive-minded card, whilst this is by no means representative of prime Shaq, it can still do a solid job getting those stops and boards with an 85 overall in rebounding and 82 overall in defending. For just 2k, you can't go wrong.
