NBA all-star weekend is over. Team LeBron collected a 157-156 win over Team Giannis. The Los Angeles Clippers' Kawhi Leonard received the MVP Award for his impressive performance. That means Kawhi Leonard Gets NBA 2K20 All-Star Moments Card.
This year's NBA All-Star events in Chicago featured plenty of tributes for the late, great Kobe Bryant throughout the weekend. There were several ahead of the All-Star Game including performances from Chicago's Jennifer Hudson and Chicago.
The NBA All-Star Game MVP Award also had a name change this year with the award renamed this year in honor of Kobe Bryant. Receiving the first-ever NBA All-Star Game Kobe Bryant MVP award was Team LeBron's, Kawhi Leonard.
Leonard finished with 30 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and he shot 8-for-14 from beyond the arc to lead Team LeBron to the 157-155 victory.
The Los Angeles Clippers star has two NBA finals MVP trophies after helping San Antonio and Toronto win championships.
He was picked for his fourth All-Star team and put on quite a display from the perimeter, knocking down 8 of 14 3-pointers.
Had he made one more, he would have matched Paul George's All-Star record set in 2016. And he appeared to be well on his way to breaking it after a scorching start.
Once the game started, it didn't take long for Leonard to make his presence felt. Leonard hit one just seconds into the game. He made all four 3s in the first quarter — the only shots he took while scoring 12 points.
Leonard was 7 of 10 in the first half, only to cool off a bit after that. He missed a step-back 3 that could have won it with his team up 154-153 but was the runaway winner for the game's MVP honors with seven votes. LeBron James got three and Chicago product Anthony Davis and Chris Paul received one apiece.
All that's missing for Leonard now is the league's regular-season MVP award.
The Los Angeles Clippers' star earned the newly renamed Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP award for his performance in one of the most-exciting All-Star Games in history.
With that, Leonard should receive a new NBA 2K20 All-Star Moments card in the game. As of right now, Kawhi has a Pink Diamond card from the previous Jeremy Lin Spotlight release. That card has a 97 overall rating so it'll be interesting to see if and when he gets a new card, what that looks like.
The packs will almost certainly be available to grab using MyTeam points or Virtual Currency. As of Sunday night, the price wasn't set, but it could be similar to the All-Star Flash Packs that were released on Friday.
Expect the Leonard card to be highly coveted and expensive on the Auction House. I'd figure as high as 400,000 2K20 MT during the first two days of availability.
There could be more cards available in the pack after such a memorable All-Star Weekend. We still haven't seen the "Thank You, Kobe" cards that were seemingly available through a locker code this weekend, but it seems no one was able to redeem them using the locker code. As we head into the second half of the NBA's regular season, the MyTeam card selection has been kicked into overdrive.
There are now three new Galaxy Opal card (Leonard, Michael Jordan and Vince Carter), a Pink Diamond LeBron James, Aaron Gordon, and Buddy Hield, and Diamond versions of Derrick Jones Jr., Miles Bridges, and Bam Adebayo.
If you're looking to get into MyTeam, now might be a good time. Also, visit here for more updates on NBA 2k20 video games.
